On the 10th anniversary of their 1st show, the ever elusive Doug and Pat resurface with a comparison of a couple of iconic amps from the past to the more current reissues. Besides the flexible 20 watt Marshall 2022 head compared to the reissue 1061X, they compare one of the most iconic rock amps ever: the 1959 modded Supro Coronado used by Jimmy Page on the 1st couple Led Zep albums. Brent from Seattle brings his modded 1959 Supro Rhythm King-same amp with the same mods as Page's, to compare to the Page endorsed Sundragon. Wow, are you kidding? You just got those expensive boutique pickups like you saw on The Doug and Pat Show and put them in your guitar and plugged them in but they don't sound like they did on the show. What's going on here? The question is: are there any other factors in getting "that sound" other than the pickups? Doug and Pat go head on into the subject trying to find out and try to keep the price down at the same time. This might be scary but you know you have to do it don't you? Alrighty then.
