We're taking a look at early patent number Gibson pickups, the ones with the patent number sticker, short magnet, enamel coated purple wire, to late 1950's PAF humbuckers (long magnet, PAF sticker on the bottom). They look about the same, but how do they compare ? There will be the usual amount of Wise Old Guys (us) discussing for a while, and then the demos. Doug and Pat take a look at another fine creation from JP Henry, builder of the SRT+ amplifier we love so much. This time he's going after two vintage Marshall versions- the Plexi and the JCM800, in the same amp and with some great modern features, mods and a quality build. Doug and Pat don't do metal very well, but dang, we had to crank this bad boy and take it for a spin. So give it a listen my friends, and even though Doug can't play "Enter Sandman" to save his life, he does take a shot at two hand tapping in here somewhere. It's time for the "Pasadena Rose!"

On the 10th anniversary of their 1st show, the ever elusive Doug and Pat resurface with a comparison of a couple of iconic amps from the past to the more current reissues. Besides the flexible 20 watt Marshall 2022 head compared to the reissue 1061X, they compare one of the most iconic rock amps ever: the 1959 modded Supro Coronado used by Jimmy Page on the 1st couple Led Zep albums. Brent from Seattle brings his modded 1959 Supro Rhythm King-same amp with the same mods as Page's, to compare to the Page endorsed Sundragon. Wow, are you kidding? How does the reissue Marshall model 1974 18 watt combo sound compared to the original from the sixties?
