On the 10th anniversary of their 1st show, the ever elusive Doug and Pat resurface with a comparison of a couple of iconic amps from the past to the more current reissues. Besides the flexible 20 watt Marshall 2022 head compared to the reissue 1061X, they compare one of the most iconic rock amps ever: the 1959 modded Supro Coronado used by Jimmy Page on the 1st couple Led Zep albums. Brent from Seattle brings his modded 1959 Supro Rhythm King-same amp with the same mods as Page's, to compare to the Page endorsed Sundragon. Wow, are you kidding? Then compare the Victoria "Electro King" to a real 1957 Gibson GA-40 which they are saying they sound and look like. We'll see about that. Of course more Old Guys talking about the Old Days. doesn't get much better than that!

Doug and Pat make their return with more insightful observations about guitars, amps, viewer comments and why Billy G hasn't made an appearance on the show. This episode also brings The Music Store Guys from Five Star Guitar to tell what's going on with Gibson and they bring five Custom Shop LP's with them just for fun. Doug and token young guy Jeremie Murfin from Five Star Guitars walk you through what they are and how to get them. Pat was seen running from the room in tears yelling "I don't know you guys anymore". No comments on this little blurb, you know what this is don't you?

Doug and Pat take a look at a couple of high priced Gibson "dead on this time" R9 Les Paul's and again ask the question: how do you know it's exactly like a true '58-59-60 burst, do you have one? They compare them to a couple vintage guitars to see if they are indeed "clones". Let's look at the details and see how they compare because friends-Gibson is charging you a premium for the honor of owning one. Maybe there are some details you can use for your next purchase unless you just don't care. Then you're on your own.

Doug and Pat continue their terrifying journey to be more modern and hip without giving up their love of vintage gear. Possible? Maybe so in the case of the Kemper which uses some kind of Voodoo system to capture the sonic qualities of a live amplifier using whatever microphone or speaker you want. But how does it sound compared to the same amp, same speaker and same microphone when played live? Can old dogs learn new tricks, even if they're Doug and Pat? The fine people at Origin Effects thinks so by hipping us to their all analog pedal that recreates every facet of a non-master volume tube amp down to the smallest detail. Sounds complicated but if these guys can get classic tones out of it anyone can. That's the idea at least. So let's get on with it and yes, they even jam at the end. An overdrive pedal AND jamming? You've got to be kidding!

t was a big month for D&P with a road trip to LA for the NAMM Show, vintage guitar show and a trip to Nerdville with Joe Bonamassa. Wait, we're not done..we also check out the Henry SRT+ clone of our vintage Vox AC10 SRT. How close is it? You might be surprised.
